A seamless learning journey from Kindergarten to Grade 12

At UTS, students follow a seamless learning journey from Kindergarten through Grade 12, carefully designed to support each stage of development with age-appropriate teaching methods and learning experiences.

Kindergarten

Program design

The Kindergarten program at UTS is designed to nurture a strong foundation for children’s holistic development in their early years.

At this stage, UTS focuses on stimulating natural curiosity, building positive learning habits, and fostering a love for school through multisensory learning experiences.

Each activity is purposefully designed to combine play, exploration, and interaction, allowing children to learn naturally and joyfully while progressing at their own developmental pace.

Curriculum

UTS Kindergarten program accompanies children during their most important early years through three key components: Oxford International Curriculum, Floppy’s Phonics Program and Talent Program for life skills development.

UTS offers two flexible learning pathways: Oxford Bilingual Program (OBP) and Oxford English Program (OEP). These pathways are designed to meet different learning needs and developmental speeds, enabling each child to reach their full potential. Each lesson is structured as a discovery experience, allowing children to grow and learn naturally through meaningful learning moments.

Learning outcomes

Aligned with the UK Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS) framework, UTS focuses on developing children across seven key areas of learning: Literacy, Mathematics, Social and Emotional Development, Communication and Language, Physical Development, Arts and Understanding the World. Through this holistic approach, children develop confidence in communication, positive learning habits, and a strong foundation to transition smoothly into Primary School.

Primary

Program design

The Primary programme at UTS is designed to help students build a strong academic foundation while developing independent learning skills from an early stage. During this phase, UTS nurtures curiosity and encourages students to ask questions, test ideas, and express themselves through diverse learning experiences. Each lesson is structured with clear objectives, meaningful connections, and age-appropriate pacing so that learning becomes an active and engaging journey.

Curriculum

At the Primary level, UTS offers two flexible learning pathways to accommodate different family goals and student needs while maintaining clear academic standards at each stage.

  • The Bilingual Pathway, based on the U.S. Common Core Standards, is selected for its systematic and logical structure that focuses on core competencies in Mathematics, Science, Language, and critical thinking. Through structured learning activities that progress from fundamental to advanced levels, students develop reasoning skills, communication abilities, and problem-solving capacity.

  • The International Pathway, aligned with the Oxford International Curriculum (UK), expands global learning experiences. Students learn through exploration, project-based learning, and interdisciplinary connections within a language-rich environment that supports natural English acquisition.
Learning outcomes

Upon completing Primary School, students achieve a balanced foundation of academic knowledge and essential skills, enabling a smooth transition to the next level. Students demonstrate independent learning skills appropriate for their age, effective communication and collaboration, problem-solving and critical thinking abilities and strong English proficiency.

Secondary School

Program design

Secondary program at UTS supports students during an important developmental transition in both emotional growth and academic thinking. At this stage, students begin forming their personal identity, expanding social relationships, and requiring a learning environment that balances challenge with guidance. UTS creates a positive and structured learning environment that encourages independent thinking, self-discipline, and the confidence to meet increasingly demanding academic expectations.

Curriculum

At Secondary level, UTS continues to offer two flexible learning pathways to accommodate diverse abilities, goals, and academic directions while ensuring smooth progression toward Upper Secondary.

  • Bilingual Pathway, aligned with the U.S. Common Core Standards, focuses on strengthening core academic knowledge while developing higher-order learning skills such as critical thinking, analysis, research, and problem solving. Courses are designed with greater real-world application, interdisciplinary connections, and project-based learning, enabling students to deepen understanding and apply knowledge effectively.
  • International Pathway, aligned with the Oxford International Curriculum, provides a globally oriented learning experience where students engage in projects, research, and independent thinking using English as the primary learning language. This pathway gradually prepares students for more advanced international program in High School.

  • In addition to academics, UTS emphasises essential secondary learning skills such as planning and time management, effective note-taking, self-assessment and reflection, continuous improvement strategies. These skills help students build autonomy and responsibility in their learning journey.

Learning outcomes

By the end of Secondary School, students possess a solid academic foundation, effective independent learning strategies, critical thinking and problem-solving skills and confidence communicating in English within academic contexts. Students are therefore well prepared to progress to High School with greater clarity and direction for their future pathway.

High School

Program design

The Upper Secondary programme serves as a crucial stage where students refine their academic goals, explore career directions, and build a strong academic profile for university admission.

At this stage, UTS focuses on strengthening academic foundations while developing advanced competencies such as critical thinking, academic research, academic writing, presentation and communication and complex problem solving.

The learning environment is structured to encourage autonomy, helping students develop independent learning habits that prepare them for international university and professional environments.

Curriculum

At Upper Secondary level, UTS provides two flexible learning pathways tailored to students’ academic abilities, personal interests, and university aspirations.

  • The Billingual Pathway, aligned with the U.S. Common Core Standards, emphasises strong academic competencies and practical application. This pathway enables students to build diverse academic portfolios suitable for various international universities.
  • The International Pathway, offering GCSEs and A-levels, provides a specialised academic direction where students focus on subjects aligned with their strengths and career interests. This pathway supports entry requirements for universities following the British education system.
Learning outcomes

Upon graduation, students are fully prepared to pursue higher education in English. They obtain internationally recognised academic qualifications aligned with their chosen pathway and demonstrate strong academic competencies.

Students typically achieve English proficiency equivalent to IELTS 7.0–7.5, opening opportunities for admission to reputable universities both in Vietnam and worldwide.

Core academic program

Oxford Bilingual Program (OBP)

The programme is built on the Oxford International Curriculum, which includes four core subjects: Wellbeing, English Literacy, Mathematics and Science. Students also study Floppy’s Phonics, ranked among the Top 30 phonics programmes globally, alongside the Talent Program, which supports physical development and artistic exploration through music, visual arts, and engaging STEAM/Montessori learning experiences.

Oxford English Program (OEP)

The program focuses on holistic child development across seven developmental domains. Built around Oxford thematic units and a Play-based Learning approach, OEP develops essential foundational skills. English sessions follow Oxford and Floppy’s Phonics frameworks to ensure children begin their English learning journey early.

International Pathway

The International Pathway integrates the Oxford International Curriculum (OIC) with the Vietnamese National Curriculum. Through this model, students develop global perspectives, advanced English proficiency, independent learning abilities, and compassionate leadership qualities, preparing them for international study and global integration.

Bilingual Pathway

The Bilingual Pathway combines the Vietnamese National Curriculum with the U.S. Common Core State Standards and the Next Generation Science Standards (NGSS). This approach allows students to gain in-depth knowledge in both languages while developing academic thinking, life skills, and essential competencies for the 21st century.

Holistic development through the “Beyond Learning” approach

Beyond Learning is not an additional programme alongside the core curriculum. Instead, it represents the way learning is designed and experienced at UTS every day. Learning activities are structured to be active, relevant, and connected to real-life contexts, ensuring that knowledge goes beyond memorisation and becomes meaningful competencies for students.

A concept may begin with a lesson in the classroom, but it is strengthened and deepened through application. In this way, learning becomes a process where students explore, practise, and apply knowledge flexibly, rather than simply memorising information to complete tests.
