Kindergarten

At UTS, your child’s world begins with the little things we thoughtfully nurture every day…

For young children, the world is vast and filled with endless new wonders waiting to be discovered. Every sound, colour, scent, or simple “why” can become the beginning of a joyful and meaningful learning experience.

At UTS, school is more than just a place for learning. Each day is a journey of discovery, where children are free to explore, experience, and grow happily through the little things we thoughtfully care for.

Holistic development through 7 key skills

Physical development

Age-appropriate physical activities support children in developing flexibility, coordination, and both fine and gross motor skills, laying the foundation for a healthy and active lifestyle.

Emotional and Social development

We help children explore their identity and understand their role within a community. Through daily interactions, they learn how to connect with others, share, care, and build empathy.

Language and Communication

Through rich classroom interactions, children develop a love for language and gradually gain the confidence to express their thoughts and emotions clearly and effectively.

Understanding the World

Through everyday observations, children begin to understand changes in the world around them. This nurtures curiosity and inspires a love for exploring their surroundings.

Arts and Creativity

Children explore a variety of materials to create their own artistic works while learning to listen to and enjoy joyful melodies. These experiences stimulate imagination and encourage them to combine different skills to express their ideas creatively.

Literacy

The program lays a strong foundation for lifelong learning by helping children become familiar with language in everyday contexts. Through engaging lessons and playful activities, children gradually recognize letters and written forms, building the essential skills needed for a smooth transition to Primary School.

Mathematical Thinking

Through basic mathematical concepts such as recognizing, comparing, sorting, and categorizing, children develop early numerical awareness and logical thinking. Creative games and activities help strengthen memory and nurture curiosity in mathematical exploration.

Two flexible pathways

The Kindergarten program at UTS is thoughtfully designed by integrating the British Early Years education framework, with the Oxford International Curriculum (OIC) as a core pillar.

The joy of learning is at the heart of the Oxford International Curriculum, reflecting a positive and child-centered educational approach. With a focus on nurturing children across seven key areas of development, the program offers rich content and engaging activities that prepare them confidently for Primary School.

Built upon the Oxford International Curriculum as its core foundation, the program equips children with strong competencies through four key subjects: Wellbeing, English Literacy, International Mathematics, and Science.

The curriculum is complemented by Floppy’s Phonics, one of the Top 30 phonics programs worldwide, along with the Talent Program, where children develop physical skills, explore their talents in music and visual arts, and engage in exciting STEAM and Montessori-inspired activities.

Regardless of the pathway chosen, children at UTS are nurtured to develop holistically in physical, intellectual, and emotional aspects. Guided by the philosophy of “The Joy of Learning,” UTS fosters a love for learning in every child, making each school day a journey of discovery where children are free to grow in a safe, inspiring, and caring environment.

The program is designed to support children’s holistic development across seven key developmental areas. Built around the thematic learning structure of the Oxford program and delivered through a play-based learning approach, the OEP program helps children develop essential early-life skills.

For English learning, children study through the Oxford Program and Floppy’s Phonics, ensuring early exposure to a strong foundation in English.

Floppy’s Phonics Program

From as early as 18 months old, children are introduced to the sounds of letters and word patterns, laying the foundation for reading and writing development in a native-like way through Floppy’s Phonics – a phonics program from the United Kingdom. Floppy’s Phonics inspires children’s interest in language and helps them discover the joy of letters through engaging and relatable learning activities. Through this approach, children gradually recognize letters and pronounce them correctly, naturally developing their reading ability and language skills.

Talent Program

The program is designed to support children’s holistic skill development during their golden years, where they strengthen physical abilities, explore music, visual arts, and STEAM through engaging learning experiences. With a student-centred approach, the program helps children become more independent, build deeper connections with their environment, and develop all five senses in a flexible and meaningful way. At the same time, the project-based learning approach gives children opportunities to explore and solve real-world problems, thereby nurturing creativity and teamwork skills.

Sharing from UTS Community

My child enjoys going to school every day and feels comfortable in a friendly, welcoming environment where it’s easy to connect with others. Fortunately, at UTS, we found both.

The Saturday morning Kids Club sessions are gently designed with fun and exploratory activities that help children get familiar with the teachers and classroom. Thanks to that, when the official school day arrived, our child entered the classroom naturally and happily — it was the parents who felt more nervous!
